Urdaneta Village was opened in the early 1960s and named for Andrés de Urdaneta, the Augustinian friar and navigator; it remains the smallest and most central of the Makati gated villages, bounded by Paseo de Roxas, Buendia, and Ayala Avenue.

Almost all of the original houses have been replaced, and the current housing stock is overwhelmingly modern, with lots running from roughly 900 to 1,200 square meters — smaller than Forbes Park or Dasmariñas Village, which has given the streetscape a denser, more architecturally varied character. Security and deed restrictions covering setbacks, height, and commercial use are managed by the Urdaneta Village Association at a primary gate on Paseo de Roxas.

Buyers here are generally trading lot area for location, choosing walking-distance access to the Ayala Avenue business district and Makati Medical Center over the larger grounds available in Forbes Park or Dasmariñas. Listings tend to move through direct owner contacts rather than open marketing.
