About Urdaneta

Urdaneta Village was opened in the early 1960s and is named after Andrés de Urdaneta, the sixteenth-century Augustinian friar and navigator. It is the smallest and most central of the priority Makati villages, bounded by Paseo de Roxas, Buendia, and Ayala Avenue, and is the closest of the gated villages to the Makati central business district.

Almost all of the village's original houses have been replaced. The current housing stock is overwhelmingly modern — contemporary builds completed in the past ten to twenty years — with a small number of preserved mid-century homes. Lot sizes are smaller than in Forbes or Dasmariñas, which has given the village a denser, more architecturally varied feel.

Typical lot sizes run from roughly 900 to 1,200 square meters.

International School Manila and British School Manila in Bonifacio Global City are a 10–15 minute drive — a manageable school run from the village's central position. Within Makati, Assumption College San Lorenzo and Colegio San Agustin Makati are nearby. Brent International School in Biñan is reached by car. Makati Medical Center sits immediately outside the village's main gate; St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City is the common second hospital.

Security is managed by the Urdaneta Village Association, with a primary gate at Paseo de Roxas and additional restricted access points. Deed restrictions cover setbacks, height limits, and commercial use.

Compared to Forbes Park and Dasmariñas, Urdaneta is favored by residents who want walking-distance access to the Ayala Avenue business district and Makati Medical Center, and who are comfortable trading lot area for location and a more recent housing stock.
